How to Change the Master Code on Brinks Series 84 Electronic Door Lock
In this tutorial, which includes a video, I’ve explained/demonstrated how to change the Master Code on the Brinks Series 84 Electronic Door Lock.
A Master Code for this lock is a 4–10-digit code that allows you to program the lock. The code can also be used to unlock the deadbolt from the outside.
If you have a brand-new lock (newly installed), it should still have the default Master Code, which is 12345678 so that’s the code you want to change. That said, let’s head right into the tutorial.

Here are the steps to change the Master Code on the Brinks Series 84 Digital Door Lock:
Hit the Brinks button twice.
Enter your existing Master Code (for a new lock, the existing Master Code is 12345678, which is the default Master Code.
- Press the Brinks button.
- Press 1
- Enter your new Master Code (4-10 digits)
- Press the Brinks button.
- Re-enter your new code
- Press the Brinks button.
- You should see a green flash and hear a long beep, signaling successful programming.
Your new programming code is now active and that’s the code you should use for other programming, such as setting User Codes, auto-lock, and other functions.
